Number of Officers: Each region may elect 4 officers, one from each school. If we do not get 4 schools to participate, we will use the region's voting results to select other officers to bring the total to 4.
Deadline for Region Officer Applications is July 1. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Nadine Standley. Just download the two Region Officer forms, RO700, RO702, fill in forms, get signatures, and email to our state facilitator, Mrs. Nadine Standley nstandley@pa.gov.
Duties of Region Officers:
Plan and implement Regional Leadership Meetings.
Implement state initiatives by presenting this information at RLM.
Attend work meetings as necessary to plan for RLM
Attend officer training meetings
Travel and Meetings: The 4 officers, their advisers, and the state facilitator will determine when and where to meet. The meetings should be completed within the day so that no lodging is required and travel time is allotted. Travel and meal expenses are paid for the officers if their school does not cover expenses at training meetings. Overnight lodging will be covered for officers and advisers under specific circumstances and pre-approval by the state facilitator.
Time Commitment:
1. Orientation and Training Meeting - plan RLM theme and suggested workshop topics; complete team building sessions, officer orientation, and assigning tasks for the next meeting; selecting various officer positions: Region President, Vice President of Development, Vice President of Advocacy, and Region Secretary.
2. In May, advisers confirm RLM locations (via email/phone).
3. Meet in late July or early August to plan workshops keeping state initiatives in mind, assign all tasks for RLM and do officer training. This meeting may be combined with other regions to facilitate officer training.
4. Meet in late September or early October to confirm plans for RLM, do officer training and practice scripts.
5. Attend and implement RLM between October 15 and November 15.
