Scholarships


Scholarships offered by colleges that are available to PA FCCLA members.

 

Connecticut Culinary Institute offers nine scholarships to PA FCCLA members.  Scholarships are renewable.

  • First, second, and third place STAR Events Culinary Arts winners ($4000; $3000; $2000)
  • First, second, and third place STAR Events Pastry Arts-Baking winners ($4000; $3000; $2000)
  • First, second, and third place Food and Beverage Service winners ($4000; $3000; $2000)

Culinary Institute of America offers six scholarships to PA FCCLA members.  Scholarships are renewable.

  • First, second, and third place STAR Events Culinary Arts winners ($2000; $1500; $1000)
  • First, second, and third place STAR Events Pastry Arts-Baking winners ($2000; $1500; $1000)

Culinary Institute of America National Scholarships

The Culinary Institute of America is offering a special scholarship opportunity just for members of National Student Organizations (NSO). The candidate must meet three requirements in order to be considered:

  • be an active participant of FCCLA for at least one year

  • submit a completed scholarship application  

  • enroll at the Culinary Institute of America by June, 2010.

There are 30 non-renewable, $3000 NSO Scholarships available. The deadline for this opportunity is March 1, 2009. Please visit www.ciachef.edu for more information.

IUP Academy of Culinary Arts is offering $24,000 in scholarships to PA FCCLA members.  

  • STAR Events Culinary Arts top four individual winners ($1,500 each)
  • STAR Events Pastry Arts Baking top four individual winners ($1,500 each)
  • STAR Events Pastry Arts Cake Decorating top four individual winners ($1,500 each)
  • STAR Events Food and Beverage Service top four individual winners ($1,500 each)

Johnson & Wales University offers twelve scholarships to PA FCCLA members.

  • First, second, and third place STAR Events Culinary Arts winners ($1000; $750; $500)
  • First, second, and third place STAR Events Applied Technology ($1000, $750, and $500)
  • First, second, and third place STAR Events Entrepreneurship ($1000, $750, and $500)
  • First, second, and third place STAR Events Hospitality ($1000, $750, and $500)

These tuition scholarships may be applied to any full-time day school program offered at the University and are automatically renewable each academic year, up to four years, as long as the recipient maintains satisfactory academic progress and participates in JWU FCCLA activities.

Johnson & Wales University also offers a National Student Organizations FCCLA Scholarship, open to all seniors (and juniors applying for the Early Enrollment program).  Scholarship amounts vary from $1000 to full-tuition, and are also renewable for up to four years.  To apply for the scholarship fill out a free application for Admission at www.jwu.edu/apply. For questions about scholarships please contact JWU National Student Organizations office at 1-800-DIAL-JWU (342-5598) ext. 2345. 

JOHNSON AND WALES UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP

Johnson & Wales University is pleased to announce the National High School Chef of the Year® contest, with more than $450,000 in scholarship awards! Two grand-prize winners of this year's culinary competition in the junior/senior division will each receive full-tuition scholarships. Each first runner-up will be awarded a $7,500 renewable tuition scholarship; each second runner-up a $5,000 renewable tuition scholarship. All other finalists will receive $3,500 renewable tuition scholarships. All completed entries must be postmarked or received by email by February 23, 2009.

Pittsburgh Technical Institute is offering a $6,000 scholarship to a PA FCCLA member. This scholarship may be used for any program of study. The student must maintain a 3.0 GPA or better to renew the scholarship in the second year of study. The postmark date of application is January 31, 2009.

PTI Scholarship Flyer

  • Applicants must be an active PA FCCLA member.

  • An application is submitted.
  • A 150 word summary of career interests, ambitions, and related work experience is submitted.
  • A copy of most recent high school transcript is submitted.
  • One letter of recommendation (from employer, teacher, counselor, etc.) is submitted.

The Restaurant School of Walnut Hill College offers nine scholarships to PA FCCLA members.

  • First, second, and third place STAR Events Culinary Arts winners ($3000, $1800, $1200)
  • First, second, and third place STAR Events Pastry Arts-Cake Decorating winners ($3000, $1800, $1200)
  • First, second, and third place STAR Events Food and Beverage Service winners ($3000, $1800, $1200)

Scholarships may be applied to either an Associate of Science or a Bachelor of Science degree in Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, Hotel Management or Restaurant Management, and must be used within six months of the winner's high school graduation date.

Sullivan University in Louisville, KY is offering new scholarships to Pennsylvania FCCLA members in the following STAR Events.

  • First, second, third, and fourth place STAR Events Early Childhood Occupational winners ($6000, $4000, $2000, $500)
  • First, second, third, and fourth place STAR Events Focus on Children Senior Team and/or Individual winners ($6000, $4000, $2000, $500)
  • First, second, third, and fourth place STAR Events Focus on Children Occupational Team and/or Individual winners ($6000, $4000, $2000, $500)
  • First, second, third, and fourth place STAR Events Culinary Arts winners ($6000, $4000, $2000, $500)
  • First, second, third, and fourth place STAR Events Food and Beverage Service winners ($6000, $4000, $2000, $500)
  • First, second, third, and fourth place STAR Events Hospitality Team and/or Individual winners ($6000, $4000, $2000, $500)
  • First, second, third, and fourth place STAR Events Pastry Arts Baking ($6000, $4000, $2000, $500)
  • First, second, third, and fourth place STAR Events Pastry Arts Cake Decorating winners ($6000, $4000, $2000, $500)
