STAR Events Evaluators

Evaluation teams are composed of adults who are selected for their expertise in a specific event area. Business and industry provide some of the evaluators. Nominees should have previous experience participating in similar events or leadership experiences that qualify them for this responsibility. All volunteer assistance that chapters can provide is appreciated and needed.

What is the DEADLINE for making STAR Events SUBSTITUTIONS?

As per SEAT recommendation and Board of Directors approval, substitutions for STAR Events will be accepted until noon of the Thursday preceding the State Leadership Conference; as long as eligibility requirements are met, membership verification is submitted, and the chapter is registered for the event. In the event of an emergency situation, and documentation on school letterhead, signed by a school administrator, substitutions may be accepted beyond that date. This decision is at the discretion of the STAR Events Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator and decisions are final.

What should students do if they have other responsibilities at SLC that conflict with the STAR Events schedule?

The STAR Events schedule takes precedence over all other responsibilities and meetings. Any student who is running for state office should make arrangements with the STAR Events Coordinator to avoid conflicts.

May students change to a different event after registration is submitted?

Advisers and participants should check event registration for accuracy. No event changes will be made after the registration deadline.

When will Lead Consultants meet to organize the events?

Lead Consultants will meet at 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday night at State Leadership Conference.  See the STAR Events Coordinator to pick up your materials for the events for Thursday and to answer specific questions. Events will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday.

When and where should Adult and Student Room Consultants report to volunteer?

Both Adults and Students are critical to the success of STAR Events. Specific instructions for these volunteers will be in your registration packets that Advisers' pick up upon arrival to the conference. It is imperative that advisers review the expectations with their school's volunteers and assure the students understand where and when to report on Thursday. Visit the STAR Events headquarters at the State Leadership Conference.

When should student STAR Events participants turn in required materials ?

All materials required to be turned in by participants, will be collected at 7:30 a.m. in the corresponding event room. This includes set-up for manuals and displays, and the collection of file folders. NO materials will be turned in on Wednesday during orientation.

What is the FCCLA national region for Pennsylvania?

Pennsylvania is in the North Atlantic Region.  This is the name that should be used in any event requiring listing of national region.
