The logo shows that FCCLA is a dynamic, active organization bound for the future. The dominant collegiate lettering articulates a focus on education and student leadership. The color of the logo is red, the color of the rose as a sign of strength. The swooping arrow arch is a common motif in today’s designs and definitely embodies an active organization that moves toward new arenas. FCCLA Logo and Tagline Usage Guide Students will be identified (for STAR Events and National Program participation purposes) by the type of course work in which they are involved, either comprehensive or occupational. Chapters wishing to designate themselves at the local level may use this format: School Name FCCLA Comprehensive Chapter or Occupational Chapter. Students in middle schools are middle level members. A Junior High chapter may exist in schools encompassing grades seven through twelve. Our activities focus on individual growth, preparation for family life, development of occupational skills and careers, and participation of youth in today’s society. As we work toward the accomplishment of our goals, we learn cooperation, take responsibility, develop leadership and give service. In doing this, we realize the outward and inward influences of the home and community on every family member. The colors of our organization are red and white. Red, an intense color, suggests strength. White is recognized as the symbol of sincerity. May these colors inspire us with the courage and determination to succeed. One symbol of our organization is the red rose. The rose, due to its beauty, has always been a favorite flower. It is found in almost every country of the Northern Hemisphere. This flower gives joy through its beauty and fragrance and symbolizes our search for beauty in everyday living. Another symbol that we have is the light of FCCLA. This is the light of our ideals and our purposes which enables us to make our homes, communities, nation and world a happier place in which to live. These symbols remind us of our responsibilities as family, career and community leaders today and tomorrow. The mission of FCCLA is to promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge and career preparation.
