SLC Participation Information and Forms

SLC Registration Packets

Chapter advisers should pick up their SLC Chapter Registration packets on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 between 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at the Wintergreen Room.

The chapter adviser will report at that time, the total number of seats needed for the Thursday Banquet.  Banquet seating assignments should be picked up on Thursday between 1:00 - 2:00 pm in the Wintergreen Room.  Extra meals for special guests are to be purchased directly from the restaurant cashier by 9:00 am on the morning of the meal.

Chapter Banners

Chapter Presidents will participate in the parade of Chapter Banners at the First General Session on Wednesday.  Rehearsal will begin at 3:30 pm in Convention Hall.  The chapter may send a representative if the chapter president cannot attend.  

Suggested dimension for the chapter banner is 30 inches by 20 inches.  During the Opening Session, chapter presidents will go on stage with their respective regions in a parade.  Bring your chapter banner with you and be prepared to announce your name and school. Presidents or members attending the rehearsal will be required to read the Chapter President's portion of the Opening Ceremony, "As leaders of FCCLA chapters, we obtain and keep FCCLA's goals, objectives and purposes in the foreground of our individual chapters."

Chapter voting delegates will vote on the proposed Bylaws change at the 64th annual Business Meeting of Pennsylvania Association Family, Career and Community Leaders of America on March 18, 2010.

Mountain Memories Chapter Photos

Scott Rodgers from Seven Springs Mountain Memories Photos will be taking chapter 5 x 7" photographs on Thursday, March 18, 2010 from 4:00-6:00 pm.  The photos will be mounted in a special Seven Springs and FCCLA matted frame and will be available for purchase at $10.  This will be handled directly with the photographer onsite.  The photos will be available for Cash and Carry after the Banquet program outside Convention Hall from 9:00-10:00 pm.

Chapter Meetings

Chapters are scheduled to have meetings on Wednesday night at State Leadership Conference.  These meetings are important to discuss how your voting delegate will vote.  State Officers are available to attend your Chapter Meetings.  They will be prepared to give an overview of the conference, emphasize the importance of voting for state officers and on business of the association, and discuss questions your chapter might ask.  

Advisers may request a State Officer Chapter Meeting visit at the State Leadership Conference Registration table.

On Wednesday, from 3:30 to 4:00 pm, Chapter presidents or designated chapter representative need to be present in Convention Hall for the Chapter Banner Rehearsal.   During the Opening Session, chapter presidents will go on stage with their respective regions in a parade.  Bring your chapter banner with you and be prepared to announce your name and school.

Tips for Advisers & Delegates

Children's Miracle Network at State Leadership Conference

A Children's Miracle Network treasure chest will be filled with FCCLA items, a few Mardi Gras items, and healthy snacks.  All people attending SLC may purchase tickets for the treasure chest at $2 a piece or three tickets for $5.  Tickets will be sold at the State Leadership Conference on Wednesday in Directors 1 between 12:30 and 2:30 pm.  near the conference registration area.  During the Children's Miracle Network workshop on Thursday afternoon, members will have a chance to try their luck to win the treasure chest.  Tickets will be traded for keys.   Who will have the key that unlocks the treasure chest?  Find out at the Children's Miracle Network workshop. All proceeds will benefit Children's Miracle Network.     

A note to STAR Events participants.  If your STAR Event is at the same time as the CMN workshop and you have purchased tickets, you can give your ticket to a representative (your adviser, trusted member) and still have a chance to win the treasure chest.  There is also a possibility for you to win free tickets by attending the workshops throughout the day on Thursday before the Children's Miracle Network workshop.

Hotel information

Check the SLC Hotel Webpage for reservation forms and travel directions.  Students will not be permitted to use the hot tubs and saunas at the hotel. (this note added on 1/27/2010)

Photos for SLC Presentations

Chapters should email digital chapter photographs to the state office to be included in a PowerPoint presentation of chapter members and activities in Pennsylvania.  Send the photos before February 10, 2010.

Roses for the Banquet

Roses may be ordered to carry to the State Leadership Conference Banquet.  The order and monies are to be turned in at the SLC Registration table on Wednesday.  Click on the Word icon for the order form.

Chapters with 1-40 members = 1 voting delegate

Wednesday Night Special Event

Enjoy the amenities at Seven Springs Mountain Resort during a Fun Fest after the Keynote Address. Conference attendees have the opportunity to enjoy the amenities during this time as part of their conference registration.  Students may not use the saunas.  Participants may enjoy the arcade during the FunFest at their own expense. 

 

 

 

 

Workshop and Keynoter Preview

Workshop topics include Leadership, Membership, Zumba, nrg Power of One and Children's Miracle Network.  The Keynote Address and one workshop will be presented by David DiMuzio with The Koala Effect "Your Uniqueness is a Tool to Meet Your Challenges." David will be selling CDs and T-shirts after the Keynote Address on Wednesday night.
