STAR
Events Volunteers
Chapter
advisers should submit registrations for evaluators and room
consultants online on the same account used
to register the participants.
With the continued
growth of STAR Events, increased numbers of volunteers are needed.
FCCLA depends on chapter and state advisers to provide these
individuals. PA FCCLA chapters are to provide one volunteer for
every three STAR Events participants or increment thereof from their
chapter. Both students and adults experienced and
knowledgeable about state and national STAR Events who are
good organizers and can help with the management or evaluation of
these events, are great candidates for nomination. Students
competing in an event are allowed to volunteer on a different day of
competition. The more information provided in the nomination form
regarding volunteer experience and availability, the more
successfully national staff can conduct volunteer placement.
Lead & Assistant
Lead Consultants
In addition to
needing volunteers to manage the competition rooms and evaluate
projects, FCCLA needs highly qualified volunteers to oversee entire
events. If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact
the state office. A small stipend is available.
Volunteer Substitutes
Those
who are nominated may not be selected to serve as a room consultant
or evaluator if there is an excess of
volunteers. If not initially selected, volunteers will automatically
be placed on the substitution list and will remain
there until a placement can be made. This may be anywhere from
immediately following the original June
mailing to an onsite placement. All submitted volunteers are
expected to follow through with their placement whether
it is a specific event or a substitute position onsite at NLC unless
the volunteer contacts
national headquarters to cancel.
